What is intent data?

A clue that someone may be planning a project.

“Intent” means interest in doing something. Intent data uses available research signals to suggest which types of projects people may be considering. For your business, it helps focus marketing on a relevant audience in your service area.

You don’t need to buy a list and figure out what to do next. HD reviews the audience, prepares your message, coordinates outreach, and connects homeowners to a quote or inquiry page.

Picture a homeowner considering residential lawn installation.

They may be comparing options, reading about the project, or looking for a contractor. Relevant signals can suggest interest in that kind of work.

After an audience and service-area review, an approved campaign can introduce your business with a postcard and a simple way to request a quote.

Illustrative example. We do not see each person’s exact search history, identify everyone researching, or know for certain who will buy.

An audience is a starting point. An inquiry is a response.

People in an intent audience have not necessarily contacted your company. The campaign helps them take that next step. Your team then confirms fit and follows up.

An interest in turf needs a project conversation.

A family lawn, pet area, and backyard putting green can involve very different work. A focused campaign explains the projects you take on and helps homeowners share their intended use before your team discusses preparation, access, and an installation proposal.

Residential lawn installation

Speak to homeowners considering artificial turf for an existing lawn or a new backyard project.

Pet and play areas

Introduce the uses your company supports, with surface preparation and drainage discussed during contractor follow-up.

Replacement and specialty areas

Feature turf replacement or a residential putting green when those projects match your actual service offering.

Keep the audience focused. Exclude turf cleaning, sports-field procurement, DIY turf rolls and supplies, and routine natural-lawn maintenance from the residential installation focus.

How your artificial turf campaign works.

HD manages audience selection, setup, creative, coordinated outreach, and measurement. Your team owns the homeowner conversation and final project assessment.

  1. 01

    Interest in an artificial lawn

Research about a turf project can suggest an opportunity to introduce your service. It does not establish yard measurements or purchase readiness.

  2. 02

    Review the installation audience

We check available audience coverage against your territory and the residential uses your crew installs.

  3. 03

Put your turf offer in the mailbox

An approved two-sided turf mailer presents the service and a tracked QR route to the homeowner's next step.

  4. 04

    Start the turf quote journey

Use the existing supported turf quote experience where verified. Otherwise, an included branded inquiry page collects the project basics.

  5. 05

    Talk through the yard

Your team confirms intended use, approximate area, current surface, access, and timing before verifying installation scope.

  6. 06

    Measure homeowner response

Review attributable visits and inquiries alongside your team's follow-up, without treating every scan as an installation lead.

Give turf interest a useful next step.

Your campaign includes a clear next step for homeowners: an existing instant-quote experience where supported, or a contractor-branded lead-generation landing page included with your service.

The existing turf quote experience lets homeowners outline turf or putting-green areas on an aerial image, or enter an area manually, and explore an estimate based on the contractor's configured services. Your team verifies the area and site requirements. When a supported quote setup does not fit the campaign, a branded inquiry page is included.

  • Homeowner-drawn turf or putting-green areas on aerial imagery
  • Manual area entry when needed
  • Estimates based on the contractor's configured services, rates, and minimums
  • Contractor confirmation of area, preparation, drainage, access, and final scope

Your contractor verifies final scope, measurements, and pricing.

The tool gives homeowners a destination. We manage the campaign around it.

Audience review, creative, outreach coordination, tracking, and campaign management are the service—even when a standalone quote tool is available separately.

Plan the right setup for your business

Start with the right questions.

A useful inquiry helps your team understand the project before the first call. Keep the homeowner’s first step simple.

  • Intended use: lawn, pets, play, or a supported specialty project
  • Approximate installation area
  • Current surface and any removal needs
  • Site access
  • Project timing and homeowner contact details

What your team does next

Confirm the service location and intended use, then review the yard, preparation, drainage, removal, and access as needed. A homeowner's approximate area is a starting point; your contractor determines the final scope and price.

Campaign inquiries go to your approved destination. The campaign review form below goes to HD Precision and is for contractors.

A different QR link.
A clearer connection.

A variable QR code is a unique link printed on each recipient’s mailer. The postcard design can stay the same while the link changes from piece to piece.

When someone scans it, the visit can be connected to that mailer. A completed inquiry can then be connected to the same campaign.

A scan identifies a mailed link, not necessarily the person using it. Shared mailers and untracked responses affect attribution. A scan alone does not prove a sale.

Illustrative tracking sequence

Your message can travel together.

Direct mail introduces the project. Optional Meta ads and eligible email outreach can reinforce the same message and point to the same quote or inquiry page.

Meta management · $350/month

Use the same source audience on Facebook and Instagram. Matching and ad delivery vary; not every mailed household will match or see an ad. Advertising spend is additional.

Email campaign · $150/month

Use eligible email contacts from the same source audience, with appropriate permissions and unsubscribe handling. Having an email address alone does not establish permission to send.

They visited.
Keep the conversation going.

Someone can explore your website and leave without filling out a form. Website Visitor Retargeting helps you build follow-up audiences from eligible visits.

A tracking pixel is a small piece of code added to your site. It helps register visits. With visitor matching, some visits can be connected to available contact or household information—even when the visitor does not submit a form.

Optional add-on: $350/month

One visit can lead to another opportunity to be seen.

  • Mailers: follow up when an eligible postal address can be matched.
  • Meta ads: build an audience for Facebook and Instagram, subject to platform matching and delivery.
  • Email: follow up with eligible matched contacts when appropriate permissions are in place.

Some visitors cannot be matched. We review your website setup, available data, privacy choices, and channel eligibility before activation. A matched email address alone does not establish permission to send.

The $350 monthly option is separate from mailer costs, Meta management and ad spend, and the optional email campaign. No tracking is installed or outreach started by this inquiry.

Artificial Turf campaign questions.

Can the campaign focus on pet turf or putting greens?

Yes, if those are services you offer and an appropriate audience can be reviewed in your market. The creative and inquiry path should name the selected use so your team understands the project.

Will this include people shopping for DIY turf rolls?

The campaign brief focuses on residential installation and replacement. We review audience categories and exclusions to avoid treating DIY supply interest, turf cleaning, or sports-field procurement as the same project.

Is the homeowner's online quote the final installation price?

No. Any quote result is subject to the supported tool's assumptions and your confirmation of area, preparation, drainage, removal, access, and the final installation scope.

What is the website tracking pixel option?

Website Visitor Retargeting is an optional $350/month add-on, separate from Meta management. A small tracking tag on your site helps register eligible visits. Visitor matching can connect some visits to contact or household information, even without a form submission. Available matches can support mail, Meta and eligible email follow-up. Matching is not guaranteed, and setup, permissions and channel eligibility must be reviewed. Mailers, Meta management and ad spend, and email campaign fees remain separate.

Do I need an instant-quote tool?

No. Where a supported instant-quote experience already exists, we can use it. Otherwise, your managed campaign includes a contractor-branded landing page that helps homeowners request an estimate or consultation.

Is the landing page included?

Yes. For campaigns without an existing supported instant-quote experience, a contractor-branded lead-generation landing page is included with the managed service. It is a focused campaign destination; it does not include a full business website, unlimited revisions, or custom estimating software.
