What is intent data?

A clue that someone may be planning a project.

“Intent” means interest in doing something. Intent data uses available research signals to suggest which types of projects people may be considering. For your business, it helps focus marketing on a relevant audience in your service area.

You don’t need to buy a list and figure out what to do next. HD reviews the audience, prepares your message, coordinates outreach, and connects homeowners to a quote or inquiry page.

Picture a homeowner considering privacy fence installation.

They may be comparing options, reading about the project, or looking for a contractor. Relevant signals can suggest interest in that kind of work.

After an audience and service-area review, an approved campaign can introduce your business with a postcard and a simple way to request a quote.

Illustrative example. We do not see each person’s exact search history, identify everyone researching, or know for certain who will buy.

An audience is a starting point. An inquiry is a response.

People in an intent audience have not necessarily contacted your company. The campaign helps them take that next step. Your team then confirms fit and follows up.

The right conversation starts with the right fence project.

Privacy, a new perimeter, and replacement of an existing fence can call for different materials and scope. A focused message helps homeowners understand what your crew installs before your team confirms the layout, gates, access, and site requirements.

Privacy fence installation

Feature wood, vinyl, or another privacy-fence material only when it is part of your actual offering.

Residential fence replacement

Invite homeowners to discuss an existing fence, removal needs, and the replacement they have in mind.

Perimeter and gate projects

Explain supported perimeter fencing and gate options, with layout and site requirements confirmed by your team.

Keep the audience focused. Separate residential installation from DIY material purchases, minor repairs, commercial procurement, and unrelated uses of the word fencing.

How your fencing campaign works.

HD manages audience selection, setup, creative, coordinated outreach, and measurement. Your team owns the homeowner conversation and final project assessment.

  1. 01

    Interest in a new fence

Research about residential installation or replacement can suggest project interest; it does not confirm the exact fence or property boundaries.

  2. 02

    Review the fence audience

We compare available audience coverage with your service area, materials, and preferred residential project types.

  3. 03

    Introduce the materials you install

Your approved mailer uses a clear fence message and a tracked QR link, with only the services your company offers.

  4. 04

    Open a supported fence quote

Where verified, the homeowner enters the existing fence instant-quote experience. An included inquiry page is the alternative when the quote path is not supported.

  5. 05

    Confirm layout and access

Your team discusses approximate length, material, gates, removal, and timing, then confirms the property and installation requirements.

  6. 06

    Connect response to follow-up

Use attributable page visits and inquiries to review campaign response, with the contractor recording the next steps and outcome.

Fencing:
a project they can picture.

An approved fencing postcard example introduces residential fence materials and an instant-quote next step. Each campaign uses the contractor's own approved services and branding.

Let homeowners take the first step toward a fence quote.

Your campaign includes a clear next step for homeowners: an existing instant-quote experience where supported, or a contractor-branded lead-generation landing page included with your service.

The existing fence quote experience lets homeowners trace fence runs on aerial imagery or enter a total length manually. Estimates use the contractor's configured materials and pricing. Your team verifies boundaries, layout, gates, site conditions, and final quantities. A branded inquiry page is included if a supported quote setup is unavailable for the campaign.

  • Multiple homeowner-traced fence runs on aerial imagery
  • Manual total-length entry when needed
  • Configured wood, vinyl, or chain-link options where offered by the contractor
  • An estimate using configured rates and minimums, subject to site and quantity verification

Your contractor verifies final scope, measurements, and pricing.

The tool gives homeowners a destination. We manage the campaign around it.

Audience review, creative, outreach coordination, tracking, and campaign management are the service—even when a standalone quote tool is available separately.

Plan the right setup for your business

Start with the right questions.

A useful inquiry helps your team understand the project before the first call. Keep the homeowner’s first step simple.

  • Installation or replacement project
  • Preferred material from the contractor's offering
  • Approximate layout or length and gate needs
  • Existing-fence removal and site access
  • Service location, timing, and contact details

What your team does next

Confirm the layout, materials, gates, removal, access, and installation scope with the homeowner. Boundary, utility, HOA, and permit questions require appropriate verification; interest data and an online inquiry do not settle them.

Campaign inquiries go to your approved destination. The campaign review form below goes to HD Precision and is for contractors.

A different QR link.
A clearer connection.

A variable QR code is a unique link printed on each recipient’s mailer. The postcard design can stay the same while the link changes from piece to piece.

When someone scans it, the visit can be connected to that mailer. A completed inquiry can then be connected to the same campaign.

A scan identifies a mailed link, not necessarily the person using it. Shared mailers and untracked responses affect attribution. A scan alone does not prove a sale.

Your message can travel together.

Direct mail introduces the project. Optional Meta ads and eligible email outreach can reinforce the same message and point to the same quote or inquiry page.

Meta management · $350/month

Use the same source audience on Facebook and Instagram. Matching and ad delivery vary; not every mailed household will match or see an ad. Advertising spend is additional.

Email campaign · $150/month

Use eligible email contacts from the same source audience, with appropriate permissions and unsubscribe handling. Having an email address alone does not establish permission to send.

They visited.
Keep the conversation going.

Someone can explore your website and leave without filling out a form. Website Visitor Retargeting helps you build follow-up audiences from eligible visits.

A tracking pixel is a small piece of code added to your site. It helps register visits. With visitor matching, some visits can be connected to available contact or household information—even when the visitor does not submit a form.

Optional add-on: $350/month

One visit can lead to another opportunity to be seen.

  • Mailers: follow up when an eligible postal address can be matched.
  • Meta ads: build an audience for Facebook and Instagram, subject to platform matching and delivery.
  • Email: follow up with eligible matched contacts when appropriate permissions are in place.

Some visitors cannot be matched. We review your website setup, available data, privacy choices, and channel eligibility before activation. A matched email address alone does not establish permission to send.

The $350 monthly option is separate from mailer costs, Meta management and ad spend, and the optional email campaign. No tracking is installed or outreach started by this inquiry.

Fencing campaign questions.

Can we promote only the fence materials we install?

Yes. The campaign should reflect your actual materials and residential project types. The example postcard is a concept for presentation, not a requirement to offer every material pictured.

Does an online fence quote establish property boundaries?

No. A quote or inquiry can begin the discussion, but the contractor and homeowner must verify the layout and any boundary, utility, HOA, or permit requirements through the appropriate process.

Can we prioritize replacement jobs?

Yes. We can define the proposed campaign around residential replacement, subject to available audience coverage. The form and follow-up can ask about removal, material preferences, and timing without assuming every recipient needs a replacement.

What is the website tracking pixel option?

Website Visitor Retargeting is an optional $350/month add-on, separate from Meta management. A small tracking tag on your site helps register eligible visits. Visitor matching can connect some visits to contact or household information, even without a form submission. Available matches can support mail, Meta and eligible email follow-up. Matching is not guaranteed, and setup, permissions and channel eligibility must be reviewed. Mailers, Meta management and ad spend, and email campaign fees remain separate.

Do I need an instant-quote tool?

No. Where a supported instant-quote experience already exists, we can use it. Otherwise, your managed campaign includes a contractor-branded landing page that helps homeowners request an estimate or consultation.

Is the landing page included?

Yes. For campaigns without an existing supported instant-quote experience, a contractor-branded lead-generation landing page is included with the managed service. It is a focused campaign destination; it does not include a full business website, unlimited revisions, or custom estimating software.
