What is intent data?

A clue that someone may be planning a project.

“Intent” means interest in doing something. Intent data uses available research signals to suggest which types of projects people may be considering. For your business, it helps focus marketing on a relevant audience in your service area.

You don’t need to buy a list and figure out what to do next. HD reviews the audience, prepares your message, coordinates outreach, and connects homeowners to a quote or inquiry page.

Picture a homeowner considering new decks.

They may be comparing options, reading about the project, or looking for a contractor. Relevant signals can suggest interest in that kind of work.

After an audience and service-area review, an approved campaign can introduce your business with a postcard and a simple way to request a quote.

Illustrative example. We do not see each person’s exact search history, identify everyone researching, or know for certain who will buy.

An audience is a starting point. An inquiry is a response.

People in an intent audience have not necessarily contacted your company. The campaign helps them take that next step. Your team then confirms fit and follows up.

An outdoor living idea needs a buildable plan.

Homeowners may have a material preference or a rough size before they understand the structure, attachment, or site requirements. A clear inquiry path starts the conversation while leaving design, engineering, and permits to the proper review.

New decks

Invite homeowners to discuss a new deck, approximate dimensions, materials, and how they intend to use it.

Deck replacement

Make room for an existing structure and the homeowner's replacement goals, with condition assessed by the contractor.

Pergolas and outdoor structures

Feature the pergolas or related structures your company actually offers, with attachment and feature preferences captured for follow-up.

Keep the audience focused. Separate contractor-built residential structures from DIY kits, lumber-only purchases, furniture shopping, and unrelated commercial construction.

How your decks & pergolas campaign works.

HD manages audience selection, setup, creative, coordinated outreach, and measurement. Your team owns the homeowner conversation and final project assessment.

  1. 01

An outdoor structure is being considered

Interest in decks or pergolas can suggest a homeowner is exploring a project; it does not establish structural condition or feasibility.

  2. 02

    Review the build audience

We review your service area, supported structures, and available audience coverage before defining the campaign focus.

  3. 03

    Show the structure you build

Approved creative presents a relevant deck or pergola service and a tracked QR route to the project page.

  4. 04

    Describe the outdoor space

The included page asks about structure type, approximate size, material ideas, attachment, features, and timing.

  5. 05

    Review design and site needs

Your team follows up to clarify the project and arrange any site, design, engineering, or permitting review required.

  6. 06

    Measure useful inquiries

Review attributable campaign visits and project submissions with the consultations and outcomes recorded by your team.

Tell us about your outdoor structure

Your business name and approved project messaging

  1. Show the service. Actual contractor photos and supplied trust details.
  2. Ask what matters. New deck, replacement deck, pergola, or another offered structure · Approximate dimensions · Material preferences and desired features
  3. Connect the inquiry. Route it to your approved lead destination.

Final scope and pricing come from your contractor. The example is an outline, so it does not collect homeowner information.

Start with the right questions.

A useful inquiry helps your team understand the project before the first call. Keep the homeowner’s first step simple.

  • New deck, replacement deck, pergola, or another offered structure
  • Approximate dimensions
  • Material preferences and desired features
  • Freestanding or attached plans, if known
  • Timing, service location, and contact details

What your team does next

Confirm the structure, intended use, materials, attachment, site access, and design expectations. The contractor arranges the appropriate engineering and permitting process; an online inquiry does not establish that either is resolved.

Campaign inquiries go to your approved destination. The campaign review form below goes to HD Precision and is for contractors.

A different QR link.
A clearer connection.

A variable QR code is a unique link printed on each recipient’s mailer. The postcard design can stay the same while the link changes from piece to piece.

When someone scans it, the visit can be connected to that mailer. A completed inquiry can then be connected to the same campaign.

A scan identifies a mailed link, not necessarily the person using it. Shared mailers and untracked responses affect attribution. A scan alone does not prove a sale.

Your message can travel together.

Direct mail introduces the project. Optional Meta ads and eligible email outreach can reinforce the same message and point to the same quote or inquiry page.

Meta management · $350/month

Use the same source audience on Facebook and Instagram. Matching and ad delivery vary; not every mailed household will match or see an ad. Advertising spend is additional.

Email campaign · $150/month

Use eligible email contacts from the same source audience, with appropriate permissions and unsubscribe handling. Having an email address alone does not establish permission to send.

They visited.
Keep the conversation going.

Someone can explore your website and leave without filling out a form. Website Visitor Retargeting helps you build follow-up audiences from eligible visits.

A tracking pixel is a small piece of code added to your site. It helps register visits. With visitor matching, some visits can be connected to available contact or household information—even when the visitor does not submit a form.

Optional add-on: $350/month

One visit can lead to another opportunity to be seen.

  • Mailers: follow up when an eligible postal address can be matched.
  • Meta ads: build an audience for Facebook and Instagram, subject to platform matching and delivery.
  • Email: follow up with eligible matched contacts when appropriate permissions are in place.

Some visitors cannot be matched. We review your website setup, available data, privacy choices, and channel eligibility before activation. A matched email address alone does not establish permission to send.

The $350 monthly option is separate from mailer costs, Meta management and ad spend, and the optional email campaign. No tracking is installed or outreach started by this inquiry.

Decks & Pergolas campaign questions.

Can we advertise composite decks or a specific pergola style?

Yes, when those materials or structures are part of your offering. The proposed campaign and page should reflect the work your company is prepared to review and install.

Can the page tell a homeowner whether a permit is needed?

The default inquiry page does not determine permit or engineering requirements. Those depend on the location, design, attachment, and other project details that need appropriate review.

Can we separate new builds from replacements?

Yes. A simple project choice helps your team understand whether an existing structure is involved and prepare the right questions for follow-up.

What is the website tracking pixel option?

Website Visitor Retargeting is an optional $350/month add-on, separate from Meta management. A small tracking tag on your site helps register eligible visits. Visitor matching can connect some visits to contact or household information, even without a form submission. Available matches can support mail, Meta and eligible email follow-up. Matching is not guaranteed, and setup, permissions and channel eligibility must be reviewed. Mailers, Meta management and ad spend, and email campaign fees remain separate.

Do I need an instant-quote tool?

No. Where a supported instant-quote experience already exists, we can use it. Otherwise, your managed campaign includes a contractor-branded landing page that helps homeowners request an estimate or consultation.

Is the landing page included?

Yes. For campaigns without an existing supported instant-quote experience, a contractor-branded lead-generation landing page is included with the managed service. It is a focused campaign destination; it does not include a full business website, unlimited revisions, or custom estimating software.
